Endometriosis and Rehmannia

As we mentioned in previous articles, endometriosis growing somewhere else other than the endometrium also reacts to hormonal signals of the monthly menstrual cycle by building up tissue, breaking it, and eliminating it through the menstrual period. As we know, herbs play a very important role in some cultures in treating all kinds of diseases. In this article, we will discuss how rehmannia helps to treat endometriosis.

I. Definition
Rehmannia is also known as Chinese foxglove. It has been used in Chinese medicine in treating hormone imbalance for women during menstrual cycle.

II. How rehmannia effects women with endometriosis
1. Vitamins
Rehamannia contains a variety of vitamins:
a) Vitamin A
Vitamin A is necessary to reduce heavy menstrual flow and strengthen the immune system for women with endometriosis during menstruation.
b) Vitamin B
It helps to release tension of the immune system resulting in lessening the symptoms of menstrual cycle such as dizziness, head ache, and irritation.
c) Vitamin C
Besides helping to strengthen the immune system, vitamin C also helps to protect the breaking off of capillary walls, thus reducing the blood flow during menstruation.

2. Circulation system
Rehamania is said to increase the production of blood and red blood cells which are necessary for women with endometriosis and a heavy blood flow. Deficiency of red blood cell causes anemia.

3. Digestive system
Besides helping the digestive system in absorption of vital minerals and vitamins, rehamannia also helps to soften and move the stool resulting in reducing the risk of constipation for some women during menstrual cycle.

4. Reproductive system
It is said that rehamannia also helps to relax the uterine muscles by inhibiting the over-production of certain members of the prostaglandins family that cause menstrual cramps.

Since endometriosis is treatable and manageable by natural remedies and a self help course, if you have endometroisis, please look on the bright side.
